The Royal Gorge Rodeo presented by the Canon City Rodeo Association is the oldest Continuous rodeo in Colorado.
The first Canon City rodeo, was known as the "Old Settlers Reunion" was held in 1872. The Canon City Rodeo Association was formed in 1937
The Association has been a non-profit organization and was formed with a vision for both the preservation of the cowboy traditions and the betterment of the community with a goal that the Rodeo and Association can be enjoyed by future generations.
The men and women of the Canon City Rodeo Association have always worked hard to maintain a place where adults and children could develop proper animal handling skills and watch fine animals and riders display their talents. As a result, the activities go far beyond just the traditional rodeo. Mounted shooting competitions, concerts, Bar-B-Q's, Ropings, Mutton Busting and other events that give residents, visitors and other guest opportunities to both observe and participate in activities they would otherwise not have access too.
Our sponsors are our core financiers. With their sponsorship the business information can be seen by thousands of people throughout the year.
